Your customers are your business. Products change, rules change, suppliers come and go. The relationship is the thing that carries over. Most stores in this industry run cash counters with no way to reach anyone who walked in last month. That's fixable in a week.
The setup
- One QR at the register, and a second on the door. It goes to a two-field sign-up: phone and first name. Nothing more.
- A reason to sign up today. First to know about new products, price drops, and what's changing in the law. Not a discount you can't afford.
- A line for staff. "Want a text when things change? It's one tap." Said at checkout, every time.
- Consent, written down. The sign-up says exactly what they'll get, and every message has a way to opt out.
What to send
Very little. One or two messages a month: what's changing, what's new on the shelf, how to make their voice heard. A list you've spammed is worse than no list.
Why it matters now
When the rules change, the store that can tell its customers what's still on the shelf keeps them. The store that can't watches them drift to whoever they find first.
Terracotta members get this kit built for them, with the list in their own private silo. Ask the Desk how it works.
