Terracotta

Terracotta is a public observation layer for U.S. hemp and cannabis policy. It helps any reader connect reporting and public records to a jurisdiction, bill, court record, concrete enforcement action, relevant actor, company, contract, or documented money flow.

The purpose

The site is designed to answer four questions quickly: what changed, where, according to which source, and how certain is the structured record? It is useful for journalists, researchers, farmers, operators, investors, regulators, lawyers, and the public. No private company is the product and no company’s strategy controls the interface.

What it is not

Terracotta is not a law firm, compliance service, investment adviser, lobbying tool, or recommendation engine. A source record can be wrong; an analytical classification can be debatable; a dated state snapshot can become stale. The interface keeps those distinctions visible.

How it runs

Structured records live in Terracotta’s own sovereign data cell. The public reader is delivered through a CDN and makes read-only requests to that cell. Vendor-specific hosting details are not part of the product and are not used as editorial authority.
